Kino Presents The Wheel: Manchester, Birthplace Of Northern Soul

Kino is proud to present a special screening of the documentary film about the history of The Twisted Wheel night club in Manchester, world famous for its links to the birth of Northern Soul music and at the heart of the Northern Soul scene.

“The Wheel”, produced by ZB Films/TWRF4 is a 2 pt documentary film about what was once a small back street Soul Club in Manchester, which started a phenomenon which spread right around the world. This is a story about how the Northern Soul scene started and how it evol…ved.

It will tell you how it influenced generations of youngsters lives, including musicians, dj’s, promoters and YOU the dancers, Soulmods, who, even after 50 years, still hold it close to their hearts.

This film will take you back to your youth…Even if you only started on the scene recently, it will astound you, fill your heart with joy and have you dancing in your seats.

FANS WILL REMEMBER THAT THE ORIGINAL TWISTED WHEEL SCOOTER CLUB WAS ONCE BASED AT THE BLACK LION SO GET DOWN TO THIS SCREENING EVENT TO RELIVE THOSE MEMORIES.

The film will show in two parts and starts at 7.45pm with an intermission to quench your thirst and stretch those legs.
